Ops, I almost forgot. Jiminnm- The Balds have, for the most part, already left the area. I'd say they were on their way out about a month ago.

Wink The Apple Tree

For years The Apple Tree restaurant, located on Bent St., just north of the Plaza, was a reliable choice for a fine meal. I presumed this still the case, but haven't been there in several years. Some reports of difficulties more lately, and decline in service and quality. Seems this establishment may have closed, an now open under new management. So, caveat emptor. And yes, the Bent St. Cafe, just across the street, has for a long time been a good choice. Hopefully that remains so.

Not sure if I've ever seen bald eagles along the Rio Grande river. Maybe. Do not know why not. But if deep within the gorge alongside the river, outside of Taos, it is not uncommon to see ravens drifting on the air currents as they parallel the top edge of the canyon, far above in many rugged steps of rock. At times one may also witness swallows using the course of the river as a highway in flying swiftly just above the water, come and just as soon gone to a destination only they know.
