I'm a professional but like to have fun and let loose on the weekends! I've been to nola several times for jazzfest but havent been back since katrina...i want a place with traditional nola style in a funky neighborhood but want to b safe and be able to get my rest during the week...help!!!

Condo in warehouse district? Not quite as funky as some areas but funky enough and a bit safer and very convenient to downtown.

Where will you be working? What is your budget? Will you be have a car? How funky do you want it? The Warehouse District if very Yuppie, the Bywater is very Bohemian and there are quite a few neighborhoods in between.

With that budget, and your yardage needs, I recommend that you look in Mid-City between Jeff Davis and City Park Ave. close to Canal St. Your commute would be ridiculously easy and you'll have easy access downtown via the streetcar. There is plenty of nice architecture and lots of places within walking distance.
