If you're referring to my post, my feelings are hurt. Perhaps I could clarify certain aspects for you? Speaking of confusing, what is up with your forum name "annie_himself"

He's probably confused because you appear to be trying to be funny, but completely missed the mark.

One misperception people have about New Orleans is that they think New Orleans itself is Cajun, which is absolutely WRONG!!

Ok , fair enough (tough house) but I really am curious how locals pronounce "New Orleans" if it isn't "Nawlins" because that's how the mainstream advice/examples do it.

Fair enough, but I've had sweet potato pie once in my life...and that was in Mississippi. Nobody here eats catfish.

Not all the way true...there was a spot on broad st. that sold the best catfish plates in the city before Katrina...I think it was called Henry's

<stomps lil feet in frustration> but I thought the whole point of this thread was to point out fallacies about NOLA! The Orleans Casino resort in Vegas is a parody of NOLA. How many of you say "gauronteed" or "All Y'awl".

But I did have sweet potato pie for the first time in greater NOLA. (same trip I had a *FANTASTIC* turtle soup at Commanders Palace)

And how true is it that the "tiddies" flashing for beads is mostly done by tourist women in tourist locations rather than locals?
