Ok were going to NOLA for a week in July and we need some suggestions about what to do and where to go. Most of our interests are things like music,nature,history,art, good food and alternative culture. We are particulary interested in places we can speak French and places we can find voodoo culture. I also want some resturaunts where I can find authentic NOLA food.
If you also have some suggestions of cool things to see in Alabama or southern Mississippi during the drive down, that would also be welcome. I want to see some things related to the civil war.

Metropolitan Night Club is a hot spot for people your age from what I've heard. For nature try city park or Audubon park. There are great restaurants all over the city. One of my favorites is Jacques imo's on Oak St. There is a great live music place next door called the maple leaf so you can make a night of it. It's not walking distance from the quarter though, and you'll need to take a cab.
