Hi all -

We are considering a move to NOLA to be closer to family. Our 7 y/o son has recently been diagnosed with ADHD. He is bright, and doesn't have any other LD's, although he went a bit longer than he should have w/o the diagnosis, and his self-esteem has suffered. He is responding well to treatment, and we've seen good progress already.

We are open to private options. The most important piece is a nurturing, warm program that will both challenge and support him academically, but also nurture his self-esteem.

In particular, would welcome thoughts on:

St. Georges Episcopal
Metairie Country Day
St. Andrews (uptown)

Also, do we have any chance of getting into these for the 2018 year at this point?

Thank you in advance,
Jaime

This is old but does he have an IEP or accommodations that need to be met?

We did not like St. George's at all. My son had no formal diagnosis but was extremely anxious. So it looked like ADHD. They handled his acute condition horribly, making his anxiety worse. I would not recommend them. Country Day however is on our short list for next school year.

Rashain78 -

Thanks for your response. I'm sorry to hear St. Georges wasn't a good fit? Where are you now, before possibly going to Country Day? We're now looking at these for 2019, but still on our radar. Any other options you are considering?

Thanks!
