Ive been looking on Google Earth on New Orleans and found so many houses to have a blue roof. Why?

That's an older picture, probably about a year or two after Katrina; I can tell because of what my house looks like in the pics. The blue that you see are blue plastic tarps placed there by FEMA when the homeowner asks for one. They are covering damaged roofs from the hurricanes.

mjay.....we had them all over florida,too...from Wilma several years ago....But Katrina is still being remembered to this very day.....along the gulf states!!! whether there's a blue tarp or not!!!

Bless ya'll's hearts over there in Fla, Peach. That 04' season was hard on ya'll, and then Wilma in 05'. Katrina, Rita, Wilma, Ike... The entire Gulf area is feeling a bit poorly from the past decade's hurricane seasons.
