Interesting question.

I've been to both, though Orleans was quite a few years ago. Been to NOLA more recently when living in TX.

Both are fascinating places and the Loire Valley around Orleans is great.

I think that the architecture of the French Quarter and Garden District are lovely, as is that of old Orleans.

So difficult to choose between them!

I'll go for NOLA just because I loved the ambience of places like Jackson Square and all around it.

I do love our architecture but I'd be supportive if we could buy new streetcars for any new lines in the city...the fake Canal cars are too heavy and too expensive.

I much prefer New Orleans old streetcars. Portland has streetcars just like the ones in the France photo and they don't impress me lookswise. And that's the problem ~ many places are adopting this same-looking streetcar design. I prefer the bus-looking streetcars in San Francisco's F-line (which are more like St. Charles streetcars).

I do think the old church in the France photo is very interesting.
