Lovely! See this is what I'm talking about. This makes sense. Give people options with wait-listing be the ultimate option if not final rejection. Something.
Waiting games....thanks for your update
It seems like if there are no options you are waitlisted. If there are no available units at the time what options can you get?
It seems like no one has heard from HDC or signed a lease yet on this place. So I am curious how studios and one bedrooms are full....?
Anyone help me understand that?
I think we're the only ones baffled. I asked the same thing because I seriously dont see why there's a whole waiting list ALREADY no less anything declared "full". But we'll see as everyone continues to update.

Good luck to you
There's a waiting list because the city is reviewing applications. If the city approves all of the applications the applicants will move on to lease signing. This takes time. The city might have questions etc. So basically, yes they're full and you might be on the waitlist in case the city says "no" to someone... that's what I think is happening.
Ok thanks Ms. Nia...my head may explode before this lottery is all resolved anyway...
I just went back and looked at the HPD handbook and it says MHANY can only submit 50 applications at a time to the city for review. One can reasonably assume that when an income bracket is deemed "full" it means that they submitted to the city for approval a pool of applicants that accounted for all the allotted units in a particular bracket. Based on the earlier comment about the phone call today the person was given an option of waitlist for a one bedroom or proceeding to approval from the city for a studio in an open band. I'm assuming again based on the content of the handbook that if people refuse a unit or is denied by the city at that point MHANY moves along to the next candidate.

I hope my thoughts help if anything.
I fully understand why a waiting list is created in general. Lottery or any other matter. But like I said repetitively, there is no reason why in February (when the process literally JUST started to move) there's a full waiting list. That is my option. Let's move on. Thank you.
