In NYC no matter affordable or market rate if someone is in your apt for more that 14 days its considered a new resident.
After 14 days, a guest should usually begin paying for a portion of the rent and bills.
Its NYC law.
I could believe that but the rule that I know for sure isn't in our lease is the one that states a person can only stay 21 days in a 12 month period. I didn't sign any papers that said that

Yeah and they didn't mention anything about a certain staying period.
So wish I had a better number for this building! Sadly 50, xxx . I already live in Greenpoint and absolutely love it. I have a ridiculously low number for a Manhattan building though.. ahhh. If only could switch!
So I got a log number in the 1,1xx I got called for an interview handed in all my paperwork and this is where im a bit miffed at. I was told move in doesn't start until Late September early October. After reading this thread clearly that wasn't the case and I'm not to sure how to go about talking to my intake person. I asked him all this before I gave them the money order, he assured me that I'm good to go and he would hand over everything to HPD. I think I was lied to just to move it along. Has anyone else been given similar information as I was?
