Me too. I got an email yesterday asking for documents for further processing. Just one question, the email was from breakingground.org right? It seemed legit and I was searching their website and everything last night to make sure I'm not sending all my info to scammers lol
My log # was 6** btw
Yes breaking ground is the non-profit Organization that processes the paperwork for the management company but I'm more concerned that it's supposed to be supportive housing. Sounds like a shelter and I walked by and the way the “security” it gives me halfway house vibes. Like are they’re gonna be clocking in/out visitors? I had a friend who got a similar apartment in a supportive housing building and she was saying that the management company who are the caseworkers were questioning why her child’s father is always in her apartment and telling her she had some in visiting and the wall was not open I guess for more than 48 hours. I hope it’s not the same situation because when I hear social services onsite... kind of feels like a shelter...

On their website they have two categories, permanent and transitional housing but this building in not up yet. And they also mention, I think on their Instagram?, about this building that a percentage is for the formerly homeless, which I'm fine with. But yeah, when they say they have social services on-site it makes me wonder too. I'm going there this weekend to check the building and the neighborhood out. We shall see I guess..

I walked by the building yesterday and The building does look nice and brand new. The playground hasn’t been set up yet but I do see where there will be a playground constructing. When I walked by I noticed a huge security desk around a big giant plexiglass like you going to go see somebody in jail or like when you’re going into a hospital or a halfway house so it doesn’t seem inviting like you say apartment building if you know what I mean. There’s a building directly across the street called the bolten End it looks luxurious. I may be projecting and making a bunch of assumptions but I would like to know if anyone had visited the building and seeing the apartments because I know those bedrooms are very small and I am concerned about the rules and regulations because of does supportive housing aspect.
I don’t really want to continue with the process. that area is so live and wild. as much as i want an apartment, it’s not worth it with both avenues as hangout blocks and tough projects a block away.
OK guys I went on a little investigation I stopped by the building and spoke to the security guard. The building is very strict ACS, HRA, social workers, therapist, are all working on site and they are watching. She said that all visitors need to scan their IDs in the system so they know who’s chilling in your house and they know when they left and how long they’ve been hanging out in your house. She did say that the apartments are nice some of them are larger than others but they are strict about the noise and In music after 9 PM. So I don’t know if I would choose this apartment not to mention eighth Avenue at nine is a little crazy as a woman you do have to be careful.
thanks for the information. I personally will not be moving on my process after the specialist contacting me.
