hey guys,

I am a college student and live with my brother and cousin (also college students), due to circumstances I applied for nycha last year in December 2019. I am w2,n4. Manhattan being first priority and Brooklyn second as our school is in Manhattan and would really prefer a short commute in the future. I don't plan on living in nycha forever, I plan to move out as soon as I graduate and get a job. I just need a place close to school and nycha is 30% of your salary so that seemed far to me.

I really want to know how long will it take to get the interview
My cousin used to live in nycha told me his parents waited 5 years for an interview but that was also in early 2000s...
My grandparents also live in nycha and they said it toke 2 years for them but they are also seniors and they applied in the 2000s so I assume seniors get prioirty
any one who got the interview please let me know how long it toke for you...

Its different for everyone. There are people who get contacted with in months, and people who get contacted many years later. Some people don't even get contacted. Even people with top priority N0 or W0 wait a while. I recommend to call Nycha customer service and ask about your application. Good luck!!

From my personal experience, I applied March 2019 priority N4. Had my eligibility interview August 20th 2020 and was certified August 28th priority changed to N0. I was selected for an apartment October 22, waiting on my apartment to be ready to move in still

I also want to ask, N0 means you were refered to nycha by an agency like dhs or acs, so when you applied and was waiting on the waitlist you were just n4, and then when they called you for the interview that was when you got referred and then afterwards you became n0? Meaning that you got the interview as N4?
