Does anyone think there is an advantage in turning in their documents in person, rather than emailing them? I was considering going in to a management office to turn in my documents, but if there is no significant difference, I might as well just send them through email.

I really wish they would let me go in person. I’ll even triple the mask wearing if it’s really that serious lol. Right now, I sent documents on the new housing connect and I thought emailing them last year to a housing or leasing coordinator was bad - the new format is worst. You don’t have an idea of you’re dealing with on the site. It randomly freezes and you may have to restart everything all over again. That happened when I was up to document 30 and boom I had to refresh the page because the page was stuck. They have a option on the site to upload files that’s pretty clutter with the design of the site. So if you make a mistake, everything is absolutely final without a chance in the world of correcting it. With the emails, GMAIL will at least draft every email you start with the attachments in case of any scenario. Phone calls, texting, going back and forth to Google, etc. And, if you did send something in by mistake or mistakenly didn’t send something in - you could at least email the person who emailed you in the first place. On the new housing connect - they’re completely anonymous. If you try contacting them on the contact information they provided - don’t expect to hear anything back. They’re just a general email and phone number. It’s not a coordinator you’ll be able to reach. Frustrating experience on housing connect 2.

On the flip side, I guess I understand from their perspective why they changed the ways of communication. Once you have the coordinator’s email - candidates start bombarding them with questions and other application related matters. So many people in one day probably ask them the same thing. What’s going on with my application? My log number is up. What’s going on with my appeal? I appealed weeks ago. Hey, how’s it going? Have I been accepted yet? So I get they feel absolutely tedious about the process. They want to remain anonymous and you will be contacted when it’s necessary. The website needs some tweaking though. I don’t know.

I did everything through email on the original Housing Connect. Only apartment viewing and lease signing in person.
