I've been applying to lottery apartments for years now (my current apartment I've won) and only up until recently none of my log #'s have been this dang high! I'm starting to think people are doing double applications (applying online and sending in paper applications). I could be wrong but it's just a thought

log # is 3xxx, and i have ME preference... new to this and not sure whether or not this is something to be excited about. are preferences factored into log # already or are my odds better than someone without any preferences but the same log #?

Not guaranteed, but yes, you have a higher chance than someone without a preference.

People who apply both online and via mail are disqualified. Also the lottery is now being advertised on StreetEasy and social media. Just think more people are applying now than in the past.

To that affect, I’ve actually seen some mention having 2 accounts by 2 different emails to apply for the same lottery for different household sizes (and yes, on this forum). It’s really unfortunate how people are playing the system when there are people who are honestly applying and in need.

Is that even possible?
Even if they use a second email it’s still the same information, please correct me if I’m wrong.
