"OP still getting discriminated against based on his voucher wether it’s HPD or NYCHA he shouldn’t be getting hanged up on or told he doesn’t have the “good section 8 voucher”. That’s wild and straight discrimination"

It is, and it's definitely wrong. I was just trying to give OP information to maneuver within the system in case they weren't up to trying to take on every jerk landlord they encounter.

Last one heard Hochul signed a law few weeks ago bringing NYS vouchers in line with NYC and Section 8. As such sums paid between the three of them are virtually same in terms of max rent.

They’re not different stop it. You still ain’t explain how they are different and I found HPD payment standard which also applies to Cityfheps voucher holders. Make it make sense
different for different zipcodes - only on HPD. NYCHA hardly builds in up-market zipcodes

This is true, unfortunately. HPD utilizes exception payment standards (small area fair market rents) for its housing choice voucher program. NYCHA does not for it’s housing choice voucher program. I think this is horrible as there is already so much voucher/ income discrimination against voucher holders by independent landlords and now with the higher AMI’s taking over the housing lotteries, tenants with the exact same voucher as HPD (only issued from NyCHA) will be deemed ineligible.

Compare new standards for Feps:

The new voucher values are: One person — $1,900. Two people — $1945. Three to four people — $2,217.Jul 30, 2021
