I passed by this building and it doesn’t look like this building is actually fully done. Though some market rate people have already moved in. I saw small cranes in some of the rooftop. And they were installing scaffolding by the main entrance (or taking it apart haha couldn’t tell). Maybe that’s why they slowed down.

Maybe that’s why the super from the building didn’t give out dates to few the apartments. Because all my paperwork given and was accurate. It’s just a waiting game to see the places (UGH LOL).
So will they go through everybody with preferences first, even if all the spots specifically reserved for preferences are filled up, before general population? So if there is like a total of 30,000 applicants, will they go all the way up to #30,000 if #30,000 has a preference before someone who is like #300 with no preferences?
No. Once the preference spots are filled, then they start back over at the lowest remaining log number with the general population, which includes everyone.

So if someone who posted on here saying they were #3xx w/ no CB was contacted, but I with #3xx w/ no CB was not contacted, does that means I am out of the running for this lottery since they passed on me?
Am sure they have some sort of software or application that filters through preferences. They probably take care of that list until the preference is met, then move to general public

They might not have passed on you. They might be catching up to you. Contacted and getting a lease are categorically different. They get contacted early in the month, you get contacted late in the month. It’s not a major issue so long as the offers to lease are made in the log# order (subject to preferences).
I am not going to look into the specifics of this lottery. What follows is general and generic info.
Things to consider, the other #3xx w/ no CB might have another type of preference. Your #3xx w/ no CB, and the other #3xx w/ no CB might be in different AMI% categories, and/or unit size categories. If that is so, you and they are not in competition for the same thing.
Also, important even if the lottery is all one unit size, and all one AMI% bracket, getting contacted and getting a unit are not the same thing. For example, perhaps somebody is doing a pile of applications in alphabetical order, or chronological order, that is all good. It does not matter much if a somewhat higher log# gets contracted and views a unit before a lower log#, it only matters the the low log# gets OFFERED A LEASE before the higher log#.
