I was asked to submit docs by email from AFNY.org, but there's nowhere to submit docs on housing connect website? I submitted everything last year and was rejected because my "forecasted income" was way too high due to one commission check I received. My annual income ended up being nowhere near their forecast either, I was still in the correct income bracket and I'm CB - log #79xx.
The same thing just happened to me!! I was rejected because I uploaded my documents to... "My Documents" on housing connect I appealed right away & they instantly denied it.
But they sent me an email today that said something about "the notice you received from HPD"... I haven't received any notice from HPD, & it still says "Rejected" on Housing Connect. Their email to me did reference a case number that included my original log number (which was lowish 2xx)
I'm guessing that the other company had trouble leasing up & they have taken over & are first reviewing people that seemed eligible & were rejected?? No idea. I also just had a fire in my building & have been in contact with HPD over that, so I thought that might have had something to do with it, but after reading here, apparently not
I tried calling I afford back & also emailed them, but so far no response
Same experience today as those above; got an email from Affordable for NY with my original log number (low 7xxx, CB preference) but Housing Connect page still shows the lottery as closed and my application as rejected (I missed the deadline to submit documents last year). Emailed but no reply yet.
Meanwhile, no email or other notice from HPD, which I usually receive around the same time as emails from the leasing agency for a given property.
It is possible that they haven't updated our profiles on Housing Connect.
My log number for this property is 1107x with community preference.
I like the size of this apartment for a one-bedroom. However, there is no dishwasher/microwave, which feels like a low-income apartment building. I am very curious about this particular lottery, especially with them building a more expensive building right next to it.
I just received an email from iafford requesting I submit documents via housing connect. I am CB and am in need of a 2-bed but my log is 20,xxx. Seems like my number is way too high to be called in? What do you all think is going on here?

Well there are almost 100 two bedroom apartments. It wouldn’t surprise me that they’d call very high numbers for CB. I am also CB and was emailed by afford, but there is no notification from housing connect to upload documents. My application has been set at pending since December 2022.

Very true! And I didn’t get a notification from housing connect either and have been sitting in pending zone on there since last year, as well.
Hello, has anyone heard from afford ny?
I was rejected in march due to projected income. I appealed and was denied. I am CB and my log # is 18,xxx.
I received the same email I see a lot of you have with a case number that includes my log #. Nothing in hpd to upload except my previous completed application. I emailed and called afny no response yet. Im Assuming since it’s over the weekend no one is available, as this was sent Friday after noon. I’ve never seen something like this happen. I notice the income requirements changed as well making me now eligible according to their calculations. So confusing, i do not want them playing with my emotions again lol anyone have any clarity as to how we are being contacted yet again.
Did most of you who were previously rejected file an appeal at the time? I'm wondering if there were shenanigans with the way the original marketing company handled appeals and that's why we are being given a second chance?
