Sounds like they're on top of things over there.

Yep. I kept getting the warning that the site’s certificate expired and bc it was unsecure not to submit any personal information as it could be a fraudulent site. This was a very comforting message as I literally uploaded every personal document I have to the website yesterday lol. It’s still down for me but hopefully gets resolved soon

I got a warning message 'This website may be impersonating "housingconnect.nyc.gov" to steal your personal or financial information. You should go back to the previous page." OMG. Are they under the attack of something?

Housing Connect's SSL (a digital certificate that authenticates the identity of a website) expired today. They have to be renewed every 1-2 years and they do not automatically renew (Theirs was valid from 5/27/2020 - 6/02/2022). It's nothing to panic over, their IT just isn't on the ball.

Thank you! My profession is actually in healthcare coordination but I have an interest in IT.

If you're on the mobile version Chrome, you can check the certificate by clicking the padlock symbol in the URL box > then clicking "connection is secure" > then click "certificate information". To avoid explaining how to check on other browsers, you can use a site like sslshopper to check any URL.
