Does anyone have any information about how this building could be run?

I work as an EMT in Manhattan and Brooklyn and I've gone into many patient's apartments in supported housing buildings and all of them have been nothing short of a horror show. People overdosing in hallways, smoking K2 in the open, individuals with extreme hygiene problems, hoarding, bugs, people with mental health issues that go unchecked, people regularly urinating in the elevators etc.

Has anyone heard if this building will be run in a specific way?

Will there be separate entries for the formerly homeless individuals and low/middle income tenants who do not need supported housing services (social worker etc.)?

If there is anything that you've heard/know about this building as it relates to the above information please let me know.

I find it very interesting that the city is reverting to its previous habit of limiting all low income and supportive people into one region or building. That’s proven to be a recipe for disaster. And it’s sad that this building was built and belonged to the Jehovahs Witnesses whom treated the property very well.

Here’s what I found:

“Services provided at 90 Sands will be available to all tenants and will include: case management, primary medical care, mental health services, employment readiness, and benefits counseling, among others.”

If you’ve had calls to Far Rockaway, they will look something similar to the housing over there. From one EMT to another, I wouldn’t risk it. I want to leave work when I clock out, not come right back to it LOL

Word you want is *supportive*, not "supported".
