Is it possible that anyone that lives in NYCHA public housing from any borough might have preference? Or would it just be from Queens?
It doesn’t specify but NYCHA residents from all over will definitely still apply. Is there nycha buildings in this area? This might be a way to move people to the new building or something.
Way too much conjecture in these threads. Just apply if you qualify.
But that’s what makes these threads fun to read. Besides, what’s wrong with being careful and investigating where you’d move to? Moving is expensive and time consuming. The worst thing one can do is move to a new place with little information and wind up living next to a Jeffrey Dahmer part II.
Yeah most of the responses lately have only provided biased opinions not actually helping someone investigate where they’ll potentially move. A post will be created and the first thing mentioned is how terrible the neighborhood is by someone that doesn’t live there, went to the neighborhood less than a handful of times or probably seen an article of something bad happening in the neighborhood. As someone stated in a previous comment you never know who your neighbors are! And as long as you have a lottery number that’s selected and you meet the qualifications HC doesn’t really care.

Right and I feel if you don’t like the area then don’t apply. I mean they need affordable housing too be look down their noses in certain neighborhoods when they can’t even afford to live in desirable neighborhoods as well. It’s comical.

I literally just finish watching it On Netflix. But one can only hope that they are moving into a safe environment and a safe home.
This whole thread is negative and what makes it even more sad that people will continue to keep talking about the building is because it’s right cross the street from Astoria houses
