Don’t be intimidated too much by the process. It’s a requirement not personal to you. Consider the purpose of the request. More or less, they are looking at deposits that might be income a person forgot to report.

Hypothetically, if your income on the existing paperwork is $10,000 under the maximum, and all non-payroll deposits for the past year total $2000 they might just rubber stamp approved on it without much scrutiny.

What they are checking is that you meet whatever the income limits are. If you moonlight as house painter and deposits reflect payments for your work they might want look into that further. So, it’s best to explain such deposit ahead of time. If someone paid you back a $5000 personal loan, you want to say that so they don’t think it’s some gig you had.

If you are rejected on Income, you can appeal that decision.

Thank you for the reassurance! I'll try to relax (as hard as it is to do so) since my income and bank statements are very straightforward and I can easily explain anything.

I am self employed so I had to list a lot of deposits and went into detail on each one. But you should have a much easier task if you're mostly w2. Just put down anything that's not a regular payroll deposit and if there aren't any I think you're right you wouldn't list anything. But as @emily les said the agent will answer any questions. They asked me for clarifications on a few of them. Honestly I wish I'd known about this forum when I was filling everything out I would have been much less nervous.

I'm also waiting on HPD final approval so I hope we all hear soon and get to move into our new homes

Everyone is naturally nervous during all of this. There's so much at stake. I've been so worried I'd make a mistake. You're gonna be fine @yellowpudding

Congratulations! I got notified of HPD approval today and they said the building would be in touch about next steps. Hopefully I'll hear from them tomorrow. I'm so grateful. Can't wait to see you all around the building
