I submitted an application for the Suffolk apartments and have CB preference and am a city employee, 100% AMI.
Still no log numbers assigned, but wondering what everyone thinks chances might be for this?!

CB will likely help more than ME and you'll be in a better position than people without any preference. That said, there is no way to gauge odds until logs come out.

I agree. And I add, having a high AMI can be a benefit because those groups are more often in a position to decline a unit. Sometimes the rents at high AMI% are relatively high and not always an excellent value. At any AMI, if the units are very small that tends to lead to more people declining them. When a unit is declined then they go on to the next log# subject to preferences. This helps your chances. Also, the more units you qualify for the better your chances are. I suspect at 100% AMI in this lottery having a two person household qualifies you for the most units, studio, 1 bedroom, and 2 bedroom. 2 bed units require a 2 person household.

Good luck and good patience.

No, I have log number for different application, just wondering if log 1xx is too height for 5 unit.

5 units that are the correct size and AMI that you'd qualify for? ME isn't that great a preference compared to CB since only 5% of units go to ME (they round up for partial units) vs 50% for CB. With 5 units, that means 1 unit would likely go to ME. So what are the odd that there is 1 person with a lower log than you who also has ME preference and the same unit size and AMI, probably pretty good. That said, you are in a good spot even without your ME preference with a log that low. Hard to predict but I think you have a decent shot. Don't be counting on this for your housing needs though, even if successful the process can take a while.

Stay with the process. Remain optimistic, but don’t pack your bags and call a moving company yet. Staying with process is good practice if you don’t get this building you will be better prepared for the next time your near to getting a unit in a lottery.

Thank you so much for your information, I did some research on Marketing Handbook too. The Marketing Agent must give an occupancy preference for five percent of the units (or one unit, whichever is greater) to municipal employees. 5% for both Mobility Disability and Hearing/Vision Set-Aside unit, 50 % for CB might go around 2-3 unit. After fulfilling the disability set-asides and Community Board, municipal employee than will process applicants in the general pool. I’m wondering if CB will get 2 unit or 3 unit in this case ?
