This may sound like a bizarre post but please read further. Around the beginning of August we began to talking to a homeless person by the name of Ronny who "lived" in Battery Park. He is most known as the man who makes "sticks.' He takes sticks from the trees, smoothes them out and varnishes them, and then gives the away to anyone who wants one. We started to take care of him, bringing him what he needed for the weather coming up, some extra food and snacks, etc. We really looked forward to seeing him every weekend and he was a pleasure to talk to. Last weekend we didn't make it down, but this past weekend we went to see him with another supply and an order to buy sticks and he wasn't in his usual place near the Bowling Green subway entrance. We checked with the park personnel and and every other homeless person we knew lived there. They have also been looking for him after noticing he hasn't been around in a week. He had a large pile of personal things and it didn't look like it was easily mobile. He repeatedly told us he had no desire to leave that area. We initially thought maybe he moved temporarily because of the 9/11 memorials but park personnel said no, he just disappeared.

So if anyone is familiar with his man and has seen him somewhere else, please let me know. We searched the entire park and many blocks around there but couldn't locate him and now we're worried. He's not a drinker, drug user or low life, he's just someone who chooses to live the way he does and it very content and settled with it. I appreciate your time in reading this and hope to hear good news. Thank you.
