Hi I currently live in Melbourne, Australia. I'm looking at moving over to New York City. What is the cost of living over there? Also is it easy to get employment?
Is this a good place to start of fresh as I'm over living in Melbourne Australia.
You will need a work visa. There is a sticky at the top of this forum with information. What type of work will you be looking for? Unemployment here is still close to 10%.
I would take anything i could get.. I'm a very multi-skilled person and can pick up anything very quickly.
Ill have a look at the sticky about employment thanks NYChistorygal
Can someone give me details of cost of living in New York City and surrounding areas? For the basic essentials? Food & Drinks, Transport, Entertainment and etc?

You need to get a work permit/visa before coming to the USA.
Do you have a lot of friends and family (that you like) over there?
I meant over there , . . where you live.
