Sad to see a nice establishment like this closing down, to be replaced by another food chain
One last serving of hot salsa at Gonzalez y Gonzalez

Sad. I used to hang out there back in the late 90's ... 98/99 ... was a good place back then. Sorry to see it go. Don't know how it was in the last decade but have no reason to believe it wasn't good.

Never like the place. I ate there twice with a group of people. The service was always terrible and one time, the waitress came out after us OUTSIDE OF THE RESTAURANT to ask her if there was a problem with the service (she didn't like her tip-we tipped her $25 for a $100 bill). I had no problem telling her where to go, I almost asked for my tip back. I admit the food was ok, but trying to get a refill on our drinks was impossible.

Good riddance.

I did have fun at this place, however I will never go back because the door man made racial slurs at my friends. Also they took my friends ID away. It was HER ID and she was well over 21 but they insisted the picture wasn't of her even though she showed her school ID and 3 credit cards. Did I mention it was a New York ID?

Wow-the staff in general is just awful there. Oh, and not to mention that a friend of mine felt like someone slipped something in her drink at the table because she passed out at the table. Real shady type of place.

I liked this place, not for the food or service, but for the music, drinks, and crowd. It has been waning for some time now so I am not surprised, but it was a good spot.

Adios Gonzalez Y Gonzalez. R.I.P..... Place was ok. It's another possible victim of financial downturn.
