So I live in Dallas and I am totally stoked I got a job in NY. I[font=Calibri]‘ ll be working at North Shore Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Moderator cut: Term has a definition that's a profane reference

Also I plan on living in Brooklyn. Can anyone tell me what the commute would be like, specifically traffic. My morning commute will be pretty early, around 6am. Getting off is highly variable , anywhere between 3 and 9pm. Can anyone give me ideas on the traffic I might encounter going back to Brooklyn. Mapquest says that the exit to Long Island Jewish Medical Center is exit 33 and only 25-30 minutes but of course that is without traffic. k

As far as your commute goes, please let us know which part of Brooklyn you will be living in, as this will be the biggest variable? But in general both the Grand Central Parkway and the Long Island Expressway can be busy going westbound during the pm rush hours, especially on Fridays. However, your morning commute around 6 a.m. should not be bad as you are doing a reverse commute (going east-bound while everyone else is going west-bound). But this will highly depend on how close you are to the Grand Central or the LIE. If you will be living on the south shore of Brooklyn that is where the problem will come in because the traffic north to south and south to north is sometimes hectic (NSLIJ is in the north).

As far as where in Brooklyn I will be living. I dont know exactly yet but the areas I have looked at when I visited were Williamsburg, Cobble Hill, Boerum Hill, Carroll Gardens, Fort Greene, Clinton Hill.
