There are more druggies walking around in general...in all neighborhoods. I saw two white guys smoking crack outside a bar in SOHO the other night. I'm pretty sure it was crack because they had to keep lighting it. I was across the street so I couldn't be sure.
They smoke meth the same way as crack.

True, and this group of people indulge in perverse sexual orgies and "running round with diamond rings and coke spoons that are owerflowing".
It's a cliche, what I described but still very common behind closed doors. (Bloomy strung out in womens underwear and Mickey Mouse mask)
