I love when they flip a U at the end of the block...I just confidently look at them and they usually drive right past, or frisk someone else.

AFP: 11 charged in $1 billion US railroad health scam

11 charged in $1 billion US railroad health scam
(AFP) – 5 hours ago
NEW YORK — Eleven people were charged Thursday in a $1 billion fraud where employees of a busy New York commuter rail service used fake medical diagnoses to boost their incomes with disability payouts.

The accused, 10 of whom have already been arrested, included seven retired Long Island Rail Road workers, a former union leader, a former pensions employee and two doctors.

One of the accused, former train conductor and union president Joseph Rutigliano, was caught by news photographers enjoying golf in 2008, almost a decade after his retirement as he received disability benefits.

Despite his final year of work featuring no sick days, he was listed as suffering a fractured spine.

"Golf course records and law enforcement surveillance performed in July 2008 indicate that Rutigliano played golf at one particular course about two times per month in 2008," a statement from prosecutors said.

Long Island Rail Road employees can retire at 50 and all those arrested were aged between 55 and 64 years old.

Default Well..

There is more gun violence(And violence in general) and police corruption cases this year vs. Last. General decay has risen steadily over the years. Walking around and riding public transportation makes this obvious.

The last few years country-wise have been trying.

I suspect there are more cops similar to Mr Ramos. A lot of undesirables become cops as a last resort.

An example of cops who abuse power that are worse then some of the criminals they help put away. Hypocrisy! Casts a shadow over the dept and those officer's that uphold the honor the badge represents. And there are many upstanding officers dedicated to the job they do, And work hard to support themselves and their families, (On a relatively small salary they start with)A real downer hearing stories like this.

Fordham Heights group band together to fight back against guns - NY Daily News

The 46th has registered another homicide and is now up to 17. It's on pace to have it's highest total since the mid 90's. You know what they say, when things go bad, the formerly bad neighborhoods are the first to go.

This past weekend there was a few shoot outs in Mott Haven, Friday Night was pretty bad, theree was a shootout near 137 and brown place and also a shoot out around millbrook. And also a shootout near college Avenue which is one of the worst areas of that neigborhood. I think the cops are pretty scared if you ask me. No doubt tomorrow morning in the daily news and ny post Mott Haven is going to show up again. Most likley trigger happy African Americans, good grief keep trigger happiness for hey yall south!

What a shame, I spoke to that cop on may 17th when a guy was murdered inside my building for the first time in 18 years. Damn what a shame. This is nothing new, in Mott Haven many of the Dominican barber shops are fronts for drug dealing and gangs aswell as AA ones who sell pirated music and have illegal dog fights in the back of the barbershops. This is nothing new barbershops have always been part of NYC underworld for quite sometime.
