What are some of the worst neighborhoods with rat infestation you think? Generally does any particular borough jump out at you?

The neighborhoods I listed are from my personal experience.

Try doing a search on www.nyc.gov, they used to have a part of the site where they tracked rat complaints, I dont know if its still there.

You can go to the Rat Information Portal, click on Rat Maps, and use their indexing tool for 2010 and 2011 rat data by community district. As you can see, despite the anecdotes thrown around in this threat, the objective "Severity Score" for the vast majority of NYC areas is a straight "zero" (that only includes properties, though, not subway stations).

Again, in my opinion the rat problem is way overhyped, but that's exactly what it is: an opinion. Maybe I'm just more tolerant because (1) I have been to places in Southeast Asia and South America with real rat issues, or because (2) I don't even find rats particularly disgusting - in a way, they are actually cute.

I have never seen a rat in an apartment nor has anyone I know. For what it's worth working in the ER I have never seen anyone bit by a rat. The people who claim to have been bit by a "rat" when you ask them what they looked like, you discover that it was actually way too small to be a rat and was most likely a mouse. Most of the bites are people who try to pick them up with thier bare hands. Duh.

Staten Island definitely has the most rats.Don't you watch mob wives ? The place is infested with them.Karen Gravano's father was a rat,Drita D'Avanzo's husband is in jail because he got ratted out, same for Carla Facciolo's husband. Now Renee Graziano's husband has also turned out to be a rat.
