does anybody know which commuters will benefit from the east side access stop at grand central
would someone living in forest hills be able to choose to get off at grand central or penn station or would there be diff trains - one going to GCP and another to penn?
Service to Penn Station will be reduced, so as the project name suggests, it will benefit commuters who want to go to the east side. There won't be a connection between Penn Station and Grand Central Terminal. They claim Metro-North could run into Penn, but it's not clear how, except via Sunnyside, which seems like the long way around.

Ugh , Metro North will run down the Hell Gate & West Side lines into Penn Station , only slight upgrades are needed for this....its not that long a way....
and would all LIRR train lines be able to get to gcp or only some lines?
Yes All LIRR lines would go into GCT , of course not all services....and this would allow for some lines to be restored like the Central Branch , Wading River Branch and and Rockaway Beach line.
