Everywhere I went to read about NYC, they all say how Upper East Side is a very, very good neighbourhood.
So I was checking the studio apartment prices and found this (the link I provided at the beginning of this post). Not only that, a lot of them are in that price range and even cheaper.
So, I ask you, is that for real or it's fake? Because if it is real, I could totally afford it.
Central Park North is not on the UES. It's 110th Street between 5th and Central Park West.

Well, the UES ends at 96th Street. 110th is an area in transition, as it is part of Harlem. There has been new investment in the area, but some of the main problems tend to be concentrations of housing projects and associated areas of crime. It really depends upon your tolerance for a changing neighborhood as to whether or not it is a good deal as there are going to be QOL issues, no matter the hype that a broker will use to get you into the apartment. It's nothing like the UES, and the ad is beyond misleading, using the wrong neighborhood to make it seem like the apartment is a deal.
If you have never been to NYC, I would tend to look elsewhere, such as a neighborhood like Astoria, rather than moving into Central Harlem with no knowledge of the area.

Seriously....
That said, if the apartment is overlooking the park, literally on 110th, I personally think that area is pretty livable. Lots of traffic though, so it would be loud.
It is probably real, or it WAS for real. The neighborhood is good if not great and the place looks nice with those newly urethaned hardwood floors.
Call and arrange to see it today. The worst that can happen is that you won't get it.
In reality though, this is an agency listing and they want to get their hook into you so this apartment may have been rented last year. If so, you'll find out on the phone.
