yes, and when you are riding up sedgwick avenue in the bronx north of Kingsbridge rd the numbers go 195th, 197th, then all of a sudden 231 street. there is bailey avenue and 193rd street, then a few blocks it's 228th street
and then on the other side of the reservoir the numbers are 205th street, 206th street
Well you can look at it this way. For people living in Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, and lower Manhattan, the Bronx is uptown for them. So some of them say im going uptown, in regards to going up or north to the Bronx.
Especially in relation to some Brooklyn hood's and Bronx hood's......you see alot of them say "Ya uptown n***s is p***y. I actually heard a few guys from Brooklyn say it.
I agree though that for people living in the Bronx, there's no uptown to them. Everything is usually to their south. But to people in the other boroughs the Bronx can be considered uptown. It is the most northern borough in NYC.
lol, yeah what he said^^ everyone I ran with calls Harlem and Bx uptown
True but the numbered streets are crooked. For example, 181st in Manhattan is 174th in the Bronx......207th is 188th in the Bronx. Is it really a continuation?
well it has to be because out of all the numbers to start with, why would they choose the bronx's lowered numbered street to start with East 132nd? so it is a continuation of manhattan.

the Bronx is not uptown. Manhattan has Uptown, Midtown, Downtown. Thats why the subways say "UPTOWN AND THE BRONX". However if people say they are going uptown as in just general direction, I guess it could refer to the Bronx too
