In the spirit of the holidays I wanted to start a thread where we could all share either A) our first memories/experiences in the city or B) a specifically fond memory you have that comes to mind during the holidays. Your choice of what you want, for me both A+B are tied together...
Earlier today on my commute home I thought back to the first time I came to the city and how amazing I thought it was. I was 13 and my cousin was living in the city at the time in the city and we had thanksgiving dinner at his place. I remember coming out from Penn Station and looking up at all the tall skyscrapers and thinking it was the coolest thing I had ever seen. I was under 5 feet tall at the time so that might have had something to do with it, but being in the city for the first time surrounded by all the huge buildings and people hurrying about definitely gives me a surge of energy I hope never fades away. Been hooked on the city ever since that first experience
