I want to get a seven letter word tattooed very small on my wrist. I went to a local parlor in Brooklyn and showed the guy my design, he said "That definitely won't be more than our minimum of $100." A hundred dollars was a bit more than what I was expecting to pay for such a small and simple piece. Yes, I know that tattoos are something that you can't go cheap on, but as I'm shopping around for the right place to get it done, I'm wondering if there are places with little to no minimum costs. I'd like to check them out and see if I can get a lower price.

Any suggestions?

Most places charge a minimum to cover the artists time, the ink, needles and the cost of sterilizing all of the equipment. The lowest I've ever paid for anything was $75- about 15 letters on my wrist. I'm sure you could find cheaper than $100 but do you really want a shop that cuts corners on cleanliness and stuff to save money?
