This is a none event.

The NK government just wants to blackmail the SK's and the US for some money. Everytime they need some money they start rattling sabers.

Also, How many NK soldiers will not defect if a war with the South breaks out. War isn't an option for the NK's. If war breaks out the NK regime is finished.

If the United States want a nuclear free world, it must abandon nuclear weapons. If it wants a world free of bioweapons, it must abandon bioweapons. If it want a world free of militarist expansionisim it must stop seeing Lebensraum.

All else is hypocrisy.

You can't occupy a country like NK with a military manpower of 9,500,000 (including paramilitary) in a country the size of Mississippi all loyal to the regime. A nuclear attack is sadly the only option, if things escalate to this but that would have a devastating effect on SK too.

Isn't THIS the truth!

Every time the US calls themselves a nation of "peace", I know the rest of the world rolls their eyes in disgust.

If North Korea were to ever develop an effective ICBM then living on the East Coast would be no safer than living on the west. They would launch the missle so that its trajectory would take it over the North Pole (not over the Pacific) where the distance and travel time to target is shorter. If North Korea ever has a space program that is not an abject failure then that would mean they possess reliable rocket technology which could be used to launch an ICBM that could actually hit a target. That's when you worry.
