Age Verify | www.thebronxbrewery.com By the end of the year they are supposed to have full production in the Bronx. So its not a hipster trick, they had a distribution center in Mott Haven and once they got a good deal on the real estate, decided to expand to a full brewery (under construction now).
No,the city brewing company will open a subsidiary brewery in The Bronx at some point but it is still just the big conglomerate brewery. They have been selling the crap for a couple of years as a unique local product and it's obviously not.Up until now ,not a single pint as been brewed in the Bronx.Wake up to reality. This is the US.Everything is a marketing gimmick.

Bottom line is this :"Bronx Brewery" products are not brewed in The Bronx though they may be brewed in The Bronx some time in the future. The name,"Bronx Brewery" was a hipster gimmick meant to deceive.

If City Brewing Company opens up a brewery in Mott Haven, what's the problem with it?

I have no problem with it. I'm pretty much pro business and pro corporate. I welcome their investment in the Bronx.

However, I will also add that you haven't cited the sources of your information. Please cite your sources that state that City Brewing Company is the one to purchased the equipment and is building the brewery in Mott Haven. Not that it matters in the least, all start up businesses have to have investors and financial backers.

Bluedog, you should just ignore the above poster...he knows nothing about the Bronx but will argue with you to the end with a misinformed opinion and sheer ignorance..I ignore him and I suggest others should too.

I spoke to the owners of the Bronx Brewery when they were soliciting investors for opening up their first location at the Bank Note Building in Hunts Point. This was at the very beginning of the business and they were seeking about $1 Million to get going. My primary gripe was what Bluedog already conveyed in prior posts: These guys are not about the Bronx, they are just exploiting the name. They don't brew here and are only doing so to further exploit the name. Their beer is not good, and there is a reason why you can go to most bars in the Bronx and you won't find their beer anywhere.

Yes they have the distribution center in Mott Haven...and to that I say so what? The reason why they have the distribution center there is to exploit the name...nothing more. They are pimping the borough like so many before them, and that's it. It's fine that they are seeking to open a brewery operation here, but at the end of the day, they don't care about anything other than exploitation.

Note: They never got their investors/$1 Million because they had a lousy business plan and had no idea what they were doing, so they went the hard way with no location.

Note 2: The Jonas Broncks beer brand's owner was initially part of the group but left for all the same reasons already discussed. He has since opened his own beer hall location in the Arthur Ave Market.

I still get repped, and plenty of people respond to me, so I guess a lot of people ignore your suggestion.
