Im a young person (under 21) looking for apartments to rent in New York , preferably in a city . Right now I am homeless but I have some money saved up . I have heard about the projects and public housing and living there but im not sure what that is and how to live there, how much it is etc. But I am looking for extremely cheap places to rent in ny , & yes I am open to places such as south Bronx , north Bronx, harlem, southside Jamaica, LES projects. I don't know too much about these places but if you could help me that would be great ! If I cant afford an apartment I was thinking maybe renting a room ? Thanks ! Also open to Philly & a New Jersey

Hi...I'm moving to NY very soon, with my wife and 8-year-old daughter. We're looking for someone to share a 3 bdr apartment on a 70%-30% arrangement (we would use 2 bdrs), hopefully near Teachers College campus, which is where I'll be pursuing a masters degree for two years. We're neat and friendly...would you be interested?

You do not want to live in the projects, your life is worth more than some cheap rent. Live in a better neighborhood and cut back spending on everything else. Less clothes shopping, less take out, more staycations, use coupons whenever possible, go to discounted showes and free movies in the parks. NYC has a lot of free entertainment, just goodle it. Change your mind as to what is important, most imporatant is your safety. Follow these tips and you will be able to afford a little more rent and still have a life.
