Honestly I would go for another term with Bloomberg. I think he has done a great job overall besides the stop and frisk scandal. I do not trust that Christine Quinn. Everytime I look at her and hear her views I just see trouble. I wouldn't mine John Liu either.

Her laugh? her hair color? For Christ's sake, say what you mean. Cowardice is never pretty.

(Reminds me of a dance critic long ago who said that blacks would never have a place in classical ballet because "their feet were too big and their buttocks too prominent to be aesthetically pleasing." Does anyone doubt the critic was a racist but too cowardly to admit it.)

ANYONE BUT QUINN???
And then you pin one of these fools down and they will say "But she's just like Bloomberg" and then you ask "Who did you vote for the last three times" and they try to avoid telling you "BLOOMBERG."

A little honestly would be refreshing...if repulsive.
Christine Quinn is no Hilary Clinton and that is something even her dwindling base might agree with.

To suggest closet misogyny or closet homophobia as the reason some make fun of her is ridiculous. Should women and gays should be exempt from the barbs straight male politicians have always endured? It might not be "nice" to make fun of physical appearance or the way someone laughs but that is all any person prone to be the champion of woman and the bane of homophobes should think it is.

Was I not honest?

When one is in a political discussion about candidates and he has to resort to hair color or laugh quality as reasons for his choice he is demonstrating that he is a misinformed fool or hiding his real agenda.

Many people complained about Clinton's "fat ass" as a reason for not voting for her.

I am not "suggesting closet misogyny or closet homophobia" I am flat out stating it. It is as apparent as the red hair on Quinn's head.

I got stopped on the street by such a goof: "Anyone but Quinn" he chanted. I asked him why and watched him almost swallow his tongue before muttering something incoherent about Bloomberg.

Today I learned: Anything negative that someone says about anyone who happens to be gay, makes that person a raging homophobe.

NYC economy is already tanking my dude. First of all the city holds 120 billion dollars of debt, thanks to who, Bloomberg! Two plenty of businesses are leaving the city either opening up shop by making office parks in the suburbs or moving to the business friendly South. Also don't expect Google and BOFA to move their headquarters to NYC anytime soon! Another thing is that the NYC declining middle class is leaving the city in order to retain their status as a middle class American including those who are working class looking to evolve into a middle class setting. Don't get me wrong Bloomberg has done a great job attracting the rich, wealthy, the bourgeoisie and the heavily indebted yuppie, but these folks don't pay much taxes to help keep the city afloat and sustainable in the longrun!

If I was running for mayor I would align education with laborforce job creation. Obtaining a job starts with education. Improving public education from Kindergarten to CUNY is the best way for native New Yorkers to remain competitive, competent and relevant in the highly fierce and cut throat corporate and sometimes public work space. If I was running for mayor I would give businesses tax breaks and or subsidies if they hire and train locally especially those from inner city neighborhoods over out of towners. Might be the best way to reduce poverty!

First of all! All of the candidates are a joke especially Quinn and AW. Quinn is just Bloomberg crony/intern, she will preserve what the city garnered from Bloomberg! Quinn will probably do well amongst wealthy liberals, women, LGBT and may garner plenty of professional class folks, that's if they are registered NY voters. AW just a typical guy who has a porn addiction, he has a hot Middle Eastern wife who is smart and still acting like a fool! For me its either Bill De Blasio or John Liu. I just want a Mayor who can make NYC livable again, reduce income inequality, improve job prospects and improve education.

LOL!!! Damn, that's cold. Accurate, also.

The last sentence is what it's all about for me. I want to see the balance of different classes that used to exist just 10-15 years. I want the cost of living to be reasonable once again. And education?! Forget about it! Even though I think of Quinn as Bloomberg IV, I find it very interesting the groups that are "suppose" to be behind her and wonder how these groups genuinely feel and will vote. For those in the groups who may not think she's the best candidate, will they flat out play her out by not voting or believe that electing someone who represents two minorities is the bigger goal rather than voting for ideals that they agree with? I wonder...

Well, I voted for Thompson last time and wasn't registered in NY the time before that.

For the record I do think Quinn would be somewhat better than Bloomberg. However she has taken several stances that are unacceptable to me. Opposing the paid sick leave bill, for example, alone among the Democratic candidates. How is that defensible?

I agree with you that there is misogyny and homophobia at work in many of the attacks on Quinn, though.

Thompson looks like an earthworm, Wiener's nose almost hits the audience at debates (and his name is Wiener), Lui looks like he just buried a body, de Blasio looks like he lives under a bridge, Catsimatidas seems like a creature I was afraid lived in my closet as a young boy, and Lhota looks like a pedophile.

Is that better?
