Off-Street Parking in Central Riverdale/Greystone Ave? (rent, co-ops)

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for an off-street parking spot in Central Riverdale - specifically, in the are of Greystone Ave and Waldo Ave. I've lived here a while and always parked on-street without a problem, but street parking has gotten increasingly tight as development in the neighborhood has increased, and my car was recently hit and badly damaged while parked on the street, which was the last straw.

While there are no commercial garages nearby, I've heard that some of the co-ops will rent to non-residents - is there any truth to this? Not sure who to talk to to get that conversation started... the local super, perhaps?

There is definitely an opportunity for some enterprising developer to make a killing on building a garage in this area, considering how many long-time residents and Manhattan College kids there are constantly hunting for parking.

Any help on this would be hugely appreciated. Thanks so much.
