Hi everyone,

Back again looking for some advice

My husband and I are moving from NJ to NY.
We are thinking of either Forest Hills, Rego Park or Kew Gardens.

I am pregnant so I am looking for an area that has apartments that are
a somewhat of a fair size, doesn't have to be huge just decent.

Needless to say, safety is also a concern.

What are your opinions on these areas?

All of them are good choices.

Agree with them all being good choices, but if I had to rank them I'd aim for Forest Hills first.

I vote for Kew Gardens. It's less busy that Forest Hills and there are larger open spaces. It is also cheaper. Get an apartment near the LIRR station or near Metropolitan Ave.

I'd choose KG, FH, the RP. Kew Gardens is close to Forest Hills if you want to enjoy the restaurants/shopping.

FH is the only one with express subway service to Manhattan.

All are great. FH has the combination of E/F/M/R subway access plus express LIRR access as well as a lot of shopping and restaurants on Austin & Metropolitan.

For KG, you have the LIRR as well, and it's less than ~10 minute walk from the LIRR to the E/F train on Queens Blvd depending on what you choose to ride.

RP is just as good but I would rank FH, KG, then RP.

Union Turnpike/KG also has express.

But whether FH and KG, I would reccomend taking the LIRR to the city if the budget can accomodate it.

That's not how it works in Queens.
