Currently 22.. How is the night life? Is the bar scene comparable to East Village? Hows the crowd? Mostly hipsters (Can hipsters afford the area?)

Looking to make moves... Im between highrise in Midtown west and a walkup in SoHo.

Depends on your budget. Also keep in mind you're in nyc, you can walk, subway, cab, bus it pretty much to any form of entertainment that it doesnt matter where you live. Live where you can afford and hang out at soho if thats where you want to be.

BTDT a few years back. Was great, now it's very touristy.... Meh.

Even that you will be hard pressed to find. I used to live in a 3rd floor walk up studio in the WV not far from Soho for $3000
