If this were true, higher taxes would historically be correlated with worse economic performance. This is not the case. Taxes in America were highest, by a huge margin, in the 1950s, its most prosperous period ever--especially on the rich.

More like Greenwich.

Been to Stanford lately. It's gotten a huge amount of development lately. Why? Because large hunks of the financial industry moved there (it's really more a home to the hedge fund industry than Wall Street is.) I wonder why that is. Maybe CT lower taxes had something to do with it?
