Yes,it's the very northern edge of "mid atlantic" but it is definitely a "mid atlantic" state."Mid Atlantic" is everything from NY to Virginia and it includes Pennsylvania and West Virginia,which aren't on the Atlantic.

Usually you would continue the southern border through Washington DC and some even include North Carolina in this group.

Default I consider the Mid Atlantic anything south of New England and north of the South.

So, NYC, Philly, Baltimore, and DC.

With the center of the region being, appropriately, Atlantic City.

I included cities.

Delaware being between Baltimore and PHI is obviously included, as is New Jersey. Virginia is the South. I don't identify with them at all.
