Really? You can't believe it? Did you not read at least ONE article on his platform while he was running for office? The Mayor's stance on horse drawn carriages isn't exactly new so enough with the pearl clutching.

That is correct...however we really don't know who DeBlasio is yet as he has been in office a whopping 2 months and people even before he took office were screaming the end of the world. How about people give him a chance before judging him and claiming he will turn NYC into Detroit? IMHO Liam Neeson is coming out against DeBlasio's proposal because LN is trying to support his fellow Irishmen who make up a portion of carriage industry.
I don't know why the horses (as long as they are, in fact, properly cared for) be moved inside Central Park and off the streets? History, tradition, tourists, are one thing but safety trumps it all.
Where in Central Park? There is car/bus traffic through areas of Central Park and the walkways aren't wide enough to support pedestrian traffic and horse carriage traffic (not to mention, who is going to clean up the poop on the walkways?)
