you should be able to get a monitor for your bp esp if htn has been a problem. it was my nephrologist who ordered the cuff from the hospital they are affiliated with. even if the doc doesn't have one they should be write you an order so you can "rent" one for a day from a hospital or local facility

Thanks for chiming in. I find it weird that it seems to be so uncommon and hard to acquire. None of the cardiologists in my area in queens deal with it it seems. I think I'm just gonna stick to this Friday appt in Manhasset.
Two questions for you since you've done it:
1) Do you put it on yourself when you get home? Or do they start it in the office?
2) How often were the readings? Like every 20 minutes or something? I think I read that.
