can anyone tell me how long you have to be a resident of ny to qualify for in state tuition at the university/colleges?? i've heard 2 years.

one year for CUNY schools. Make sure you are clear on the rules and what evidence you need to gather. I don't know about SUNY.

Well, it is right on the application. Welcome to SUNY - The State University of New York. Requirements might have changed since I last checked and are detailed, so you'd do well to check it yourself.

Don't thank me too kindly because I agree with viralmd. The smart thing to do is to check it on the CUNY site, and not from perfect strangers who may or may not know what they're talking about. In fact that was what my initial response was going to be -- check it on the CUNY site -- but I figured that was so obvious I didn't need to say it.

well i wont be moving to ny until 2009. i was just curious. in the future i wont ask nyc folks questions. i'll post in the ny forum, much friendlier. cheers....you guys need it.
