Might depend on what ethnicity you're looking for, but no not really. People just live in whatever neighborhood fits their situation best for the most part.

I personally dig middle class ethnic neighborhoods: hispanic, asian, russian, eastern european, greek etc

Philadelphia is about as close as you can get to a Queens's kind of vibe, though Philly is not as diverse as NYC. On the plus side, rent in Philly is about half as cheap as NYC. I don't find it dangerous at all, though like anywhere there are certainly places I would stay away from depending on the time of day.

^ Cool. So if I were to pick a middle class neighborhood near the SEPTA line what neighborhoods would I consider if my school were near Center City (like most of the med schools lol).

Plus, do they have good gyros, falafels, hispanic food, and concert venues ^_^?

Music, food, culture, and safety are all I care about honestly .

Could care less for that coffee shop / Whole Foods bs that they keep trying to force on everyone here.
