Received a letter of DQ for NYPD and want to appeal. Does anyone have experience in regards ot this and can recommend the best course of action? Any lawyers/Psycologists that anyone can recommend? Any advice would be great.

It is pretty much the run around, a waste of time and money, with these shrinks its a professional courtesy not to override what another shrink says.

Dont waste your money is my suggestion. The chances of the appeal being overturned are slim to none. Im sorry it is not what you want to hear, but thats just how it is. It is going to be a long process spending $ taking days off of work, which I am sure you took plenty when you were going for the job in the 1st place. I would advise to try somewhere else.

If you want to fight it, check the The Chief Leader newspaper and there are some advertisements for lawyers who specializes in labor and civil service laws. Good luck.

How much money are you willing to spend on a good lawyer?

Police departments have gotten away with not hiring people because they score too high on intelligence tests. Yes too high! its pretty much a nation wide practice. You are fighting a losing battle, you will not win you will waste time and money.

Best advice, find a different job, NYPD is a cesspool of incompetence and discrimination and if you get and have any sense of moral character you will be looking to leave ASAP

My best bet is keep on applying and taking exams and try to process all over again. They will relent. Eventually.
