I don't know the full background of this story since I haven't heard BOTH sides but maybe she deserved the beating/humiliation. The reality is that if you act like a hoe then you get treated like one and you therefore forfeit your womanhood.
I just hope that the boyfriend actually confirmed whether she cheated or not before implementing any discipline, if not, then the beating was unwarranted. If I had a girlfriend and I could actually PROVE that she was cheating then she may be subject to the same consequences.
Hopefully this serves as a lesson to both people involved.

Not really. The real problem that was unaddressed in attacking the police was economic. Finally I heard some high profile Blacks address the matter.
Jada Pinkett Smith and Spike Lee spoke about the lack of Blacks in the Academy as members and in the film industry as executives. Smith basically said Blacks have to do more to create wealth and institutions, and not beg for recognition. Lee mentioned how other industries recruited a diverse workforce (sports teams head coaches and senior executives are diverse, and you have had these matters at least somewhat addressed).
The poverty recreated first by discrimination and then by Lyndon Johnson's great society/welfare/public housing must be ended in order to improve the crime situation in Black communities and to improve relations with the cops.
The focus on police brutality was really a political distraction from having to deal with serious issues.
But I think the public and the media got somewhat bored with the Black Lives Matters protests. I'm not saying that bad things can't happen with cops but we all know this was not the real story.
Ferguson was so 2015, it's 2016 now.
Poverty decreased after Lyndon B Johnson's programs, it stopped decreasing when Nixon got rid of a lot of these programs. I don't think social welfare programs are as much to blame for poverty in American cities as deindustrialization and the flight of the middle class which means less tax revenue which means worse services, like schools, which can greatly help with social mobility.

Most blacks are incarcerated for drug charges and not violent crime or homicides.
Much of the "crime situation" is related to the War on Drugs which targeted blacks in inner cities. Anti crime legislation signed into existence some time in the 90s made mass incarceration worse. The situation in Ferguson brought these issues to the forefront.

Notice White people weren't impoverished by the deindustrialization. They had better jobs, access to credit, access to better schools, etc.
Many Whites bought homes with subsidized mortgages or even co-ops or condos. For those Blacks living in housing projects, when they die they have no property and most likely no other assets to leave their children. Being on social problems disproportionately is a direct cause of Black wealth being 5% of White wealth (Black income is 60% of White income).
