Hello Everyone!

In February, I have a connecting flight that requires an airport change. I will arrive in LaGuardia and then I will have to travel to JFK for my next flight.

What I need to know:

1. How much time will I need? I have to consider when my plane lands, travel to JFK, enough time to check-in for next flight, etc.

2. What is the most efficient and cost effective way to travel between LaGuardia and JFK? Is there a shuttle? Is taxicab best?

3. Anything else that is good to know?

Thank you in advance for all help and replies!

Just take a taxi. How long it will take will depend on what time of day/night it is.

Thanks for the reply.

If my flight lands at 1:15pm, is 3 hours enough travel/transition time to check-in, etc. for an international flight at 4:15pm?

Or is it better for me to arrive at 10:30am instead (in order to transition to the 4:15pm international flight)?

and this is all on a Saturday...

It's somewhat close. Do you have any luggage to pick up?? If you do then you will probably leave the airport around 1:40 to 1:55pm. The plane lands at 1:15 then it take like 10 to 15 mins for everyone to get off, another 8 to 12 mins to find luggage section, another 5 to 10 mins to get your luggage. A taxi from JFK to LGA will take 20 min (low traffic) to 45 max(heavy traffic). After that you will have to get your tickets, pass security check points, find your gate, etc. The boarding time for the 4;15 flight would be around 3:45

I would not risk it nor stress myself. Better to take the 10 am flight and be worry and stress-free.

I was thinking the same thing.

Thanks! This helped a lot.

Just take a yellow cab. Fast easy and stress free. There are hundreds of them outside of LGA. No need to call ahead and wait on the curb like a herb while cab after cab is dispatched.

PS great idea taking the earlier flight. There could be bad weather or a maintenance delay. Now you are protected from the unforeseen.

If I am flying to Italy with a connection in LGA then to JFK can I check my luggage through or do I have to pick it up and then recheck for Italy?
