It just goes to show you how dynamic the US is in that we prosper in spite of the volatilities/ challenges that a free market brings (along with many positives).

Chinas has defiantly come a long way but you can't really compare an amateur sprinter who became a middling professional to a world class professional sprinter who's trying to incrementally increase his top speed.

It is rapidly gentrifying. Columbia pretty much owns West Harlem. Other academic institutions in Harlem like City College have grown. You have major research hospitals in the area including Mt. Sinai. A lot of immigrants come here. And real estate investors have been snapping up properties big time, and developers have been building lots of new stuff.

yes, you are right, China is on the right track, but my point is it's taken over 50 years to get that ethic back from the marxist influences that ruined 2 generations in communism. It takes a long time to get that out of the system...
